The very things that many 'neurotypical' people enjoy about the festive season and similar celebrations are the things that some people with autism find difficult - the change to the normal routine, the surprises, the unexpected guests and so on.
Look at the world of Christmas through my eyes.
Whatever Christmas period changes you have introduced, don't change them on Christmas Day. Keep the schedule the same as far as possible. It is important to think about Christmas changes as early as possible and then try to prepare for these.
Im not that keen on Christmas, as I wake up and I think of what other people are doing, the people I like, the people I speak with with. I wonder how they are and what they are doing.
